Why Climate Global?

Climate and extreme weather risks are no longer abstract or distant considerations. They are financially material drivers of insurance costs, operating expenses, capital allocation, and long-term asset value.

Traditional market-cap-weighted REIT indexes implicitly assume that all dollars of real estate are equally durable. We created Climate Global to challenge that assumption using the same analytical tools insurers use to underwrite risk.

Our Approach

The Climate Global - Climate-Resilient REIT Index (CLIMX) combines market capitalization with our proprietary Climate Robustness & Durability Score (CRDS) — a science-based framework that leverages insurance-grade catastrophe models.

Our methodology draws on practices standard in the global insurance and reinsurance industry:

  • Asset-level hazard modeling across multiple perils
  • Portfolio aggregation accounting for geographic correlation
  • Forward-looking risk assessment calibrated by historical loss data
